In recognition of its successful deployment in Kent State University, HID Global’s HID FARGO Connect has received the 2017 Security Solutions Award from Security Sales and Integrator Magazine.

Recently, the cloud-based solution was brought into Kent State University in Kent, Ohio to assist with the arduous process of issuing thousands of student IDs. According to the institution, students needed identification cards to purchase meals, check out library books, and gain access to other university-related services. However, issuing out these cards previously took up precious time for all parties involved.

With the HID FARGO Connect, the issuance is but a quick two-step process. Using only a web-browser and a tablet device, Kent State students can take a picture of themselves and receive their IDs in a matter of seconds. There’s no hassle and absolutely no waiting.

In response to its success, Security Sales and Integrator Magazine gives HID Global the 2017 Security Solution Award, a recognition of proven security product deployments in access, surveillance, and other security products and solutions.

The HID FARGO Connect was first introduced at the ASIS 2017 Convention in Dallas, Texas last September. The solution serves as a groundbreaking reinvention of how ID cards are issued, leaving the need for PC workstations, IT resources, and additional software to be the thing of the past.
