For today’s supplier spotlight, we’re proud to be covering Philmore/LKG Industries of Rockford, Illinois. This supplier and its family-owned business has been a part of Edge since 2000 and has provided plenty of products and solutions.
Founded by Wayne Timpe and his wife Judy, LKG Industries provides a range of accessories for power distribution, video, television, and personal computer and cable connectivity products. In cohesion with their Datak line, they also have a variety of dry transfer products as well as an inventory of wire markers and printed circuits, all of which can be found in various stocking locations throughout the United States and Canada.
Wayne and Judy started running Philmore in 1988 and grew to also purchase other electronic distribution companies such as Carter-Craft, DATAK Corp., and Pfanstiehl. For 13 years, the couple sold a variety of products while constantly meeting the needs of installers and end users. They went beyond that by having an outstanding relationship with the Rockford community.
As the business grew, they obtained ownership of the Rockford Lightning Basketball team of the Continental Basketball Association, a venture that sparked from their love of sports. They also volunteered at local sports organizations and made contributions to Saint Anthony’s Hospital and Rockford College. Philmore is now owned by Wayne’s daughter Kathy Granath. The staff also includes several members of the Timpe family.
Philmore is dedicated to helping avid computer builders obtain the right computer accessories and Ethernet connectivity products that they need. They provide a wide range of low profile gender chargers that guarantee fully shielded cable-to-device connections, all of which vary by size and type. Philmore carries a variety of microphone connectors, XLR to RCA adapters and stereo amplifiers, including their own line of MediaStar audio and video devices. Philmore also offers 3-pin XLR cables, microphone windscreens holders, and microphone stands.
