Sign-Ups for Third Annual Ideal National Championship Opens

IDEAL Electrical, an Edge supplier and one of the largest family-owned solutions provider to  electricians, contractors, mechanics, data communication specialists and other industry professionals since 1916, has announced that it will open registration for the third annual IDEAL National Championship, where the best aspiring and professional electrical experts compete for more than $600,000 in cash and prizes.

The announcement comes after a successful run through of the second annual tournament, where IDEAL was not only able to gain an increase in competitors but was also able to lock down a TV deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group, NBC Sports Network, and AT&T SportsNet. IDEAL Electrical Group President notes that this expansion and exposure will gather even more competitors as the registration opens today.

“Over the past two years, nearly 60,000 men and women across America have competed,” Sanford said. “We’ve made a few updates to this year’s competition that we hope will excite previous competitors while allowing us to broaden our reach to discover new talent.”

Electrical professionals and ‘apprentices’ have a chance to register to compete in solo competitions or huddle up in teams of three. Qualifying rounds will consist of mental problem-solving obstacles. These obstacles will also test the competitors’ skills and agility in pulling wire, cutting, stripping, termination and testing. Professional competitors will additionally have to go through data communication type obstacles in their Qualifying Rounds. The Championship Weekend will be presented with a new 24 wild card slots, where 12 of the fastest professionals and apprentices will have a chance to compete as individuals who did not win their state’s bid.
